Website Content Usability
Website Content Usability Writing for the Inteet, is completely different than writing for printed material. We have a tendency to make the content on the web looking for information you are after, as opposed to reading word by word. As a result of this, there are some guidelines that you should be sure to follow when writing copy for your site: 1 Use clear language and easy to read from screens is tiring for the eyes and about 25% slower read printed material. As such, the simple style of writing is easier for visitors to his words of wisdom. Some techniques for using clear and simple language: - Avoid slang or jargon - Get your grandmother and ten years old, nephew of your site - if both sides can be the content of what you've done a good job ! - Use shorter words where possible -? Start "instead? Start? Used to "take place? Accustomed to ", etc. - Avoid complex sentence structures - Try to have a single idea or concept per sentence - the future active use of passive words -? We have the distinction "is shorter and easier to understand that? The award was given to us "2 Limit each paragraph to one idea if you have only one point for each idea to site visitors can: - easily scan through each paragraph - Get the essence of what the point of which above - and then to the next section, and all this without the fear that they are skipping important information because already know what the point is about. Limit each paragraph is just an idea, is particularly effective in combination with front-loading paragraph content. 3rd Front-loading content Front-loading content means that the conclusion first, followed by what, how, where, when and why. The first line of each paragraph should be the conclusion of this paragraph, so site visitors can: - Search through the opening sentence - Instant understand what the point above - Decide whether you want to read the rest of the paragraph, or less, given that each paragraph contains one idea, you can use this secure knowing that if you go to the next section, you will not be missing any new concepts. A Front-loading also applies to Web pages and paragraphs. The opening paragraph on every page should always be the conclusion from this page. In this way, visitors can see an immediate understanding of what the site and decide whether to read or not. Unfortunately there are many sites in this and in written form at the end side in a story format. On each page there is the introduction, in the middle and conclusion in that order. Unfortunately, when scanning through web content does not tend to read all the text all the way to the bottom of the screen. As such, one can easily miss the conclusion if it is left until the end. So, remember, the first conclusion of everything else second! For a good example of front-loaded content, please read all the newspaper articles. The opening paragraph is the conclusion of this article. 4th Use descriptive subheadings Breaking Up descriptive text with subtitles for the visitors can easily see that every section of the page goes. The most important position on the page provides a brief overview of the site, what happens, and the opening paragraph contains a brief conclusion of the page (since they are pre-loaded content). Inside the site, but there are several issues that are fast on the sub. I was not hard and fast, as is often the use of sub-items, but it should be about the goal of a sub-heading every two to four digits. More important, however, is the sub-group should be heading on the page of content in logical groups so that visitors to quickly access the information in them. 5th Bolden words Another important way in which user information quickly and easily, it is important Bolden words at some points. When visitors crawl through the screen, this text is upon them, so make sure that the text makes sense out of context. Bolden two or three words that describe the main point of this paragraph, and not words on which you focus. With these words, see the visitors can boldened immediately understand what the point above and to decide whether or not they want to read. 6. You have a text link in the same way as bold text on the screen crawl web users means that the text links. Text link, how? Click here "does not make sense that out of context, it is unnecessary for visitors scanning web pages. To determine the destination of the link, the visitors were chasing the text before and after the link text. 7th Use the lists are preferable because they are long paragraphs: - The user can use the information vertically rather than horizontally - it's easier to scan - they are less intimidating - they are usually more scarce 8th Sinistra Sinistra text text easier to read than justified text, which in tu is easier to read than the center-right, or text. While reading is justified by the distance between the text of each word is different, so our eyes, so that the next word. This slows the speed of reading. Law and media-points to slow the speed of reading, even more, because every time you finish reading a line of sight, the search for the start of the next line. Conclusion These eight guidelines are nothing revolutionary, nor are they difficult to implement. But many sites, their content structure so badly, to the detriment of their visitors. Have a quick look at your website now - how related to them?
