Web Designer s Guide to Search Engine Optimization
Web Designer s Guide to Search Engine Optimization > From a search engine perspective, the perfect webpage has no graphics, no scripting, no tables ... etc, but a normal game, simple readable text. One can only assume that the text is the normal food for search engine spiders. Therefore, the text, the more you have, the more there is the spider happy. However, the design of the view that these pages are very boring, but the fact is that most affects the spiders, rather than us happy. The argument is that if the search engine spiders can not find your website, nobody will. Based on this philosophy, we have the case of Web sites with Flash and graphics in recent years. Many sites that use heavy graphics where no longer found. Web developers are happy because they are an excuse to be less impressive websites ... The question is, can both saerch engine spiders and us happy? The answer is certainly 'yes', provided that the web - designer, certain rules when designing web pages. You must be out of their comfort zone and lea abit more about new web technologies. Domain Name and URL Naming Convention for an appropriate domain name and the URL is very often neglected. Many search engines actually some 'weighting in the way your domain name or URL of the file. They want some juicy words in your name. For example, if your web pages on the website of the critics and your URL, that is, in any case, more than one domain, such as bluefish. com or someting. The same principle also applies to hyperlinks. If you have 2 words as keywords, you can use an underscore "_" and dash "-" to separate. Title not fool around when writing the title. From my experience, this is the most important part of the site. Many designers like to enter special characters such as "*", "|", ":" or "[]" in the title of which is unique. If you want really special to make your website, you should do it somewhere else, as in the body of the HTML document. You should put your keywords in your title. As in the previous example, if your site is on the customer's site, make sure that the words "Website Reviews" somewhere in the title. Noted that "Website Reviews" is not the same as the customer site. Spacing is important. When you write the title, do not try to write more than 8 words. There are no hard and fast rules, but the fact is that it does not mean best. In fact, you write, the more your keyword density is reduced. If you still repeat the same keyword in the title, search engines, your site as spam and you are in a very short time. For example, a title such as "Sitecritic Web Reviews" is much better than "Sitecritic Web Reviews, Inteet Marketing, Web Design Ideas, Inteet directory, Web Hosting Budget, Melboue. "I must stress once again, do not fool around with the title. Meta Description After the title tag is the meta description tag. Many argue that the meta description is no longer important. Based on my experience, are still relevant in SEO rankings especially if your site is new. The principle of writing the meta description tag is the same as the title. The only difference is that you explain abit more about the services in a convenient format. You also want your keywords in the meta description. Menu, content and links that should not all HID JavaScript menu that URL. Many javascript menus, but not as SEO friendly. Whatever you're using technology to create the menu, make sure that the day is visible. You can also modify your keywords in the menus, links or text. Like the previous example, if the keyword 'web site reviews, you may not want to use the same word over and over again. You can do this by using "Professional Web Reviews, reviews of websites, site reviews, etc. .... "variation of the keywords the content is interesting and is good for SEO are. If you are the content, look for keywords in different sections of the document. Use keywords or tags. Avoid URLs that say: "Click here" or "View." Although often not necessary for purposes of SEO. Text links are Stong image link. It is therefore not advisable to use images as an entire menu of the site. If you want to display pictures in user browsing experience enables you to examine the separation of the image. This can be achieved easily through CSS or the background image as an option or days. Unlike many experts in the search engine files, I recommend the use of graphics, because I am passionate about Web Design, and 'sad to see so many sites that are optimized for search engines, but also crap on the screen. You need a balance between the height of the graphics and speed of download. As I said before, if your header banner contains images or text is possible to divide the text and use the images as wallpaper or a floating layer. This can make the image smaller and also make the text visible to search engines. Transparent gifs are very useful for the transfer in comparison to other content and images. The appropriate use of JPEG and GIF files can also reduce the loading time of many. CSS Technology CSS helps you focus your day and gives more room for the spiders to your content. The problem with CSS is that it is not as simple as spreadsheets. Currently, the CSS is not yet in a different browser, so that before you publish your Web site, you must use the layout in different browsers. I am actually not against designers using tables especially if the time needed to create a full CSS site is not justified. The fact is that there are still cases when using CSS is not advisable. An example is when you view a table of data, Excel spreadsheets or presentation of data in tabular form at the moment. Unless you are using complex nested tables, which are, or should not do too much an issue tag for search engine spiders. Conclusion Web sites should not be boring and web designers not to bow to the revolution of Google. A well designed site combines form and function, but still able to be search engine friendly. I firmly believe that this can be easily achieved if website designers are able to follow very basic rules in designing their websites.
